Rich and I are excited to have just debuted Defiance Tools at the Fall 2018 ACE Hardware Show in Chicago and then the Orgill Dealer Market in Las Vegas!
As we've mentioned before, when you hear the brand Defiance Tools, we want you to envision the local tool store or lumber yard, the small-town diner or the neighborhood bar. These are the places that made America unlike anyplace else in the world and have always been a deep and trusted part of our roots. America may be known for big box retailers both offline and online, but the small hometown business is our bedrock!
Before founding Defiance Tools, Rich and I developed and supplied products to and worked for the "big guys" under some famous brand names. So, bringing all of that knowledge to the present time – our mission is to bring that quality of product to the independent retailer. Whether it be hardware stores, gift shops or general stores – we want Defiance Tools to provide Tools to Navigate Life to retail customers and their families.

Orgill, Inc. is the world’s largest independent hardlines distributor. They are a privately-owned company who was founded in 1847 and is headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. Orgill serves more than 6,000 retail hardware stores, home centers, pro lumber dealers, and farm stores throughout the United States and Canada, and over 50 countries around the world.
So where exactly were we headed? Orgill Dealer Markets give retailers the opportunity to meet more than 1,000 different exhibitors (us), get new ideas from their model stores, stay on top of industry trends, and to scope out the industry's best product deals.
Once you read ACE’s philosophy and understand what Orgill does for independent retailers, you can see why Rich and I knew Defiance Tools would be a great fit and a great addition to their product lines. That is why we have partnered withDrop Ship Solutions for these ACE and Orgill debuts.
Drop Ship Solutions focuses on the Independent Retailer and offers a one-stop destination for a variety of products via drop ship from a central distribution point. They pride themselves in offering the Independent Retailer the ability to order smaller minimums at competitive prices.
Once we decided to attend the shows, we knew we needed a great assortment of products. We immediately started mapping our course with some of our existing, as well as some new, vendors. We knew these items had to be perfect for the independent retailer but also for our C Larboard community of customers.
